Derek James Smith, CCHT
Hello. I appreciate your interest in Constellation, in myself and in the community. I wear many professional hats - as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCHT), Tarot Reader, Astrologer, Milliner, Performer, Puppeteer, Artist, Graphic Designer, Creative Consultant, Woodworker… I’ve been blessed to be able to explore and deepen my passions over the years. Constellation has become the confluence of these explorations.
I was born in Albany and grew up in Ghent, New York, so opening a shop in Catskill has allowed me to be close to family and return to my roots. After graduating from Ithaca College in the early 2000’s I adventured to northern California, Mexico, Spain and Vermont, for a total of fifteen years. Now my journey has lead me back to the HudsonValley.
The intention of my professional practice is to help people find their inner guidance, to align with life lessons and to feel connected to the meaning and magic of this world. I’ve spent half my life interacting with symbolic systems and I feel confident that I can be a vehicle to translate, interpret and deliver relevant correspondences. I create art in multiple modalities because I feel guided to do so, as there is always an underlying narrative within each separate process that resonates with who I am and who I am becoming. As I continue to grow and mature into these various disciplines I hope to offer beauty, knowledge and joy to you and the community.
